Last week we heard about a way of life pleasing to the Father– The Beatitudes. This way was, and is, perfectly and beautifully lived by Jesus. So perfectly fitted was Jesus to this way of life, it would be more accurate to say the Beatitudes are a description of him. Then we heard that through our union with Jesus we have been blessed with his way of life so that we might follow in his footsteps. This week we see how Jesus' way of living was one of salt and light to the world. And, as with the Beatitudes, we are invited to participate in Christ's salt and light work of bringing glory to God through our good works on earth.
