In this Sunday School lesson, as we look closely at 1 Cor. 15:29 and its context, we provide both an explanation and some important applications of this verse. We first see the importance of the Christian's glorious resurrection and Paul's examples of both our Lord's death and resurrection and Paul's motivation for his own suffering. Then, we provide an explanation of the "baptism of the dead" in vs. 29, as well as the motivation for the Christian, through persecution, to "lay hold on", or to improve, his "eternal life" with a better resurrection.
