Philippians 2:12-18 Study A faith that cannot be tested cannot be trusted. Our faith needs a test every so often to make sure that it is legitimate and matching up to God's expectations. The goal of joy presented in this book will never be attained unless we make sure from time to time that we are still going in God's direction. There are six major emphases in this passage. Each one of them points to a specific area of our life that needs an examination to make sure that we are on track with God's plan for our life. If we are not in sync with God, the joy of the Lord is impossible. God works in us through the Word, prayer, and suffering; and we work out in daily living and service. God fulfills His purposes in us as we receive and believe His Word.
