In his address at the National Catholic Prayer Breakfast, April 18, 2008, US President George W. Bush enthused:
“This has been a joyous week. It’s been a joyous time for Catholics - and it wasn’t such a bad week for Methodists, either. The streets were lined with people that were so thrilled that the Holy Father was here. And it was such a privilege to welcome this good man to the United States.”
‘When The Pope Pops In’ ... what should we think?
Consider, first,
[1] THE PERSON ... WHO HE CLAIMS TO BE.
President Bush referred to him, in the course of one short speech on Wednesday, 18 April 2008, as:
- the one who had, “ascended to the chair of St. Peter”;
- “His Holiness”;
- and, on no less than 6 occasions, he conferred on him the title, “Holy Father.”
This is decidedly blasphemous.
[2] THE PURPOSE – WHAT HE HOPES TO ACHIEVE.
(a) HE CAME TO PROCLAIM SPIRITUALITY, BUT INSTEAD SPREAD IDOLATRY.
Predictably, the observance of the Mass was central to everything the Pope did.
(b) HE CAME TO PROMOTE LIBERTY, BUT INSTEAD DIRECTED INTO BONDAGE.
While President Bush hailed the Pope as a champion of freedom, the past and present activities of the Papacy prove that this description is wholly unwarranted.
(c) HE CAME TO PREACH MORALITY, BUT INSTEAD PRESIDED OVER INIQUITY.
[3] OUR PRACTICE - WHAT WE SHOULD DO.
(a) WEEP at the demeaning of our Saviour and the display of ignorance from the general populace;
(b) WITNESS against the Pope - and to his poor deluded followers.

Great Sermon! Heard last Lord's day and an excellent message- packed with information and a must here!
There are american preachers with the same message as Rev Brown refers to Ralph Overdal whose sermons are also on sermonaudio.

Great Sermon! What a powerful sermon. Not sure if the zeal behind Mr. Brown's sermon is the historical animosity between Protestants and the church of Rome, but it is greatly appreciated. Why can't American preachers be so forthright in pointing out that Bush is an Anti-Christ and not a true believer (according to his conduct). I can count on my hand how many sermons were dedicated to preaching against the apostacy of Rome and Bush.

Great Sermon! Another of Rev. Brown's superlative dismantlings of the vile Romish system, delivered with his matchless, inimitably engaging flourish. Rev. Brown's messages are always first class in both content and style. Amen, Rev. Brown!
