Isaiah 29 is chocked full of NT allusions and quotations. All of God's word is important. But some chapters are particularly important. This chapter must be counted among those that are particular high water marks for God's word. In a day when the church if succumbing to moral and theological relativism, we need to hear Isaiah's prophesy against Judah. Dare I say, we MUST heed the prophet in our day, or what shall happen to us?
Anyone who has grown cold and tired of hearing God's word because, 'I've heard it all a thousand times' or because, 'We don't need any of that hell fire and brimstone preaching anymore' needs to examine their own heart with the spotlight of the prophet's words. Please hear and heed the warning of Isaiah 29. May God spare all present nations who find themselves in the same precarious position as Judah was in Isaiah's day.
