Can I share a little visual I've used over the years to speak life into others? I have found that many, for whatever reason, have misunderstood and consequently misappropriated and misapplied big and little things that have entered and exited their lives.
None of us are immune from this malady. There's no onetime vaccine for misunderstanding and misusing truth, trials, temptations and test in our lives. Sometimes we function in futility because we failed to see God at work and we live with the misfortunes of only seeing life from a tainted and dirty lens. So come walk with me and I pray I can pour it out and water you today.
Life... it's a combination of the good and bad, the sweet and sour, the beautiful and ugly, the pleasures and pain, the ups and downs, the fun and tragic, the joys and heartaches, the mountains, the valleys and everything in between.
I've been using this old vintage jar to represent a life. It's a vessel that gets filled with many things... the buttons are symbolic of all sorts of neat things that enter our lives from birth. They come in all sorts of shapes, colors and sizes... like people, places, events and experiences that have been used to help shape who we are. The pearls represent those rare and precious things poured into us on the journey.
They can be a variety of things from really special people, our parents and siblings, tea |
