Text: Philippians 2:19-24 | Speaker: Levi Bakerink | Description: Paul told the Philippians to "do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves" (2:3). He backed up this imperative with the glorious example of Christ who humbled himself by taking on human flesh and was obedient to the point of the accursed death on the cross (2:6-11). Christ alone is the supreme example we ought to follow. But at times we need tangible, physical reminders of who Christ is and what He accomplished. That is why, in our passage for Sunday, Paul puts forward his disciple Timothy as an example of Christ's humility. In Timothy, we find a real-world example of what true humility looks like in our lives.
