The only comfort I was able to offer her was "The LORD is near the brokenhearted, and saves the crushed in spirit." "When?" she asked. "When will He save me?" The only answer to that is "In His own time." But His promises most certainly are for all the afflicted and the brokenhearted. Ps 37 reminds us that no matter how evil the wicked are, no matter how poorly a daughter treats her mother, God will set things right. The righteous will triumph and the wicked will fall; God will bless everyone who takes refuge in Him with eternal life in an eternal land.
