“ Finally! Thank you! ” For my twenty years as a Christian, I haven't been as victorious as I'd like to be or ideally should be because I've been "putting off the jacket" and "putting on" a nicer coat instead. I spend so much time being unsuccessful with those two that I've never really gotten as far as "putting away."
This explanation is so much easier, and in Christ's strength, attainable. I can "put off" doing those things the flesh demands by waiting till tomorrow because I'm already a highly skilled procrastinator. I can "put on" because as with preaching, so with special music in church and other stuff in life so I know what it is to pretend.
That leaves "putting away," and my closets already attest to my ability to accomplish that when I need to tidy up....
