1.) Festus, the Jews & the Appeal to Caesar vs. 1-12. *Festus is new to the area & has no Jewish background. As soon as he takes office, he tries to connect w/the local Jewish leaders. *When he does, the Jewish leaders seek Paul's death nearly 2 yrs. after their initial accusations which Festus tells them to bring their accusations before a court. *The Jews then bring their unfounded & unprovable accusations. Paul knows Festus may try to give the Jews a little extra consideration so he appeals to Caesar right away. 2.) Felix Seeks Help w/His "Paul Problem." vs. 13-27 *Because he's new to the area, Felix has very little context to Paul's case. *He seeks legal help which gives Paul an audience w/Agrippa & Bernice. *They discover there aren't any valid accusations against Paul which would make them look bad if they sent Paul to Caesar w/no valid accusations. God engineers our lives to bring us into contact w/those who need Christ & He will never send us into a position that we're not prepared for. The Lesson for Ch. 25 - "Regardless of the circumstances, look for people to whom God would have you minister." 3.) Paul's Testimony Before Agrippa CH. 26 *Agrippa's not shy why he brought Paul before all the advisers and people of note to help him determine Paul's future. *Paul takes the opportunity to reach everyone w/the gospel of hope, but more importantly he focuses his message on Agrippa. *Agrippa has a background of studying Jewish culture & Paul knew he would be open to his message. *Paul presents Christ as the Savior of Hope. *Lesson for Ch. 26 - "The opportunity to proclaim the hope of the Gospel is worth an cost."
