The letter of James is a very practical, personal and purposeful word intended to confront, challenge, correct and call on the brethren to walk humbly, faithfully and wisely with the Lord. Throughout his message James insists that we should look for a character and conduct that is consistent with the faithfulness of God and stop settling on mere claims. He is driving home the point that what we believe effects our behavior and our behavior will manifest what and who we believe. James is an ALL IN kind of guy. His heart is saturated with rich truth and theology but his aim, in this Spirit inspired letter, is not to be heavy in theology but to help us see the importance of discernment and doctrine and how we can recognize that doctrine, good or bad, determines the direction of our trust, thoughts, transformation and treasures in life. And truth that doesn't transform our wisdom and walk, consistent with the DNA of God, is an untruth that's not worth our trust or time...
