I believe that this text is teaching us that we can joy and rejoice when we pray for, and when we really do expect that the supply of the Spirit of Jesus Christ will be enough for us to face difficulties that we will experience in relation to what God has providentially ordered for our lives, in the way that He would have us to glorify Him. We must remember that we have Christ and the supply of His Spirit in difficult and trying situations. 1st of all – Christ can supply us with grace by His Spirit when we are concerned about how the gospel and Christ's kingdom can go forward. 2nd – Christ can supply us with grace by His Spirit when we are concerned about insincere Christians around us. And 3rd – Christ can supply us with grace by His Spirit when we are concerned about our own deliverance from the trial that we are going through for His sake.
