Does worldview matter? Do basic foundational doctrines really matter in the lives of Christians? A new study from Barna shows that only 11 percent of American adults believe in the doctrine of the Trinity, while 16 percent of self-proclaimed Christians hold to it. The number of Gen Z's who believe in the Trinity comes in at only 8 percent. The doctrine of the Trinity has been largely neglected in churches today in favor of more "relevant" topics, the 20-minute homily, and the 40-minute music program. But not being grounded in the most basic doctrines makes one susceptible to false teachers. So how do we overcome this as we raise the next generation? First, check the foundations and worldview of everything you and your children participate in. Give your children a proper worldview as you teach them, and then instruct them on how to cast down every imagination and every high thing that exalts itself above Christ.
