I want to begin by speaking of David's great deliverance from sin, and guilt, and the innumerable evils that surrounded him. How did he find this deliverance? The answer is found in verse 4. "Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, and does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies." David is not trusting in himself or in what men can do for him, he is thinking of His Lord who is his deliverer. Verses 1-10 of this Psalm speak in a prophetic sense of what our Lord Jesus Christ came to do in order to deliver his people from their sins. So at this hour I would like to show you what it was that God desired and what it was that God required so that we could be delivered from our sins. He desired and required 3 things.
