Seeking Him who holds the solutions to all my problems.
Add it up... we are only as strong as we are wise...
It’s not good that man be without wisdom.
I really love the image of James and the mathematical words he uses in chapter one.
"Add it up” or “consider/count it all joy" and "test or trial" and "knowing" and "wisdom" and "asking" ...all these words are calculating terms that paint a scene of a math class for us.
Add joy to each problem we're facing and if we don't know how to calculate the equation or "problem" we are currently facing, we can ask God for help. If we were in a math class, we would ask our teacher for guidance. And just think about it...it's only a problem because we don't have the solution. But we must always remember, the one who is testing us has the answer key... for no teacher will give us a test without having the answers.
So, as we relate that to everyday life, we can ask God for wisdom...because we know (we have faith and believe) He has the answer/solution to our problem/test. Therefore, we can ask for wisdom and add joy to the trial, knowing He’ll give us what we need, so we can know how to take the next step, with Him, and bring glory to His name and kingdom.
