Had we been in charge of writing the Bible this verse would probably had been left out. Here was a woman with a dirty history. Yet she stands here among some of the giants of the faith. She shows it doesn't matter where we come from or what our background is; faith was shown by her actions and so should be the same thing with us. Her life had not been a good one but she came to the point where she found that the Lord God could supply her needs. He supplied her some faith, that is the first need we have, that would stir her heart to desire Him. Rahab put her own life on the line to protect the two spies. And she proclaimed to them that she had heard what their God had done already and what she knew He was going to do for them. This showed her faith but she went further by asking for salvation for her and her house. God honored her request and went and done more than she asked. Why? Because she not only had faith but she also put it to work. Do we have that much faith? Do we put it to such work? God will honor faith put into action.
