Solomon warns against making the "sacrifice of fools." Under the Old Covenant, this would involve making an animal sacrifice with the wrong mindset. Some turned grace into a commodity to be bought and sold; and thus viewed God as a merchant. We can also fall into that trap if we don't approach God with the reverence He deserves. We should come to congregational meetings with a mindset to learn and hear from the Lord. And the teacher must prepare as though he were speaking the words of God.
