In 2 Kings 6 we have our attention drawn to one young man who is doing the work of God and looses his axe head. This is a young man who is serving the Lord and doing what he can to see an expansion in the work of the Lord but something happens which makes his service ineffective until the man of God comes and does a remarkable miracle. If we are saved we are all called to serve the Lord in different ways and in different capacities. But what we need if we are going to see the work of God done effectively is a cutting edge. We need a cutting edge that will get through the hardness of heart and the indifference and the barriers that are set up in the hearts of men and women. Now I think it has to be said that we have in many ways lost our cutting edge. We are not as sharp for the Lord as we once were. Men and women we need to get back that real razor like sharpness for God back in our lives. It is for that reason that the story of this young man should be of interest to each one of us here today because this young man had his ineffective service dealt with by the prophet of Go
