“ Keller is confused ”
Keller was waffling, period. Giving him the benefit of the doubt is exercising too much liberty. The question is asked: does homosexuality send one to hell? The simple answer is yes. I'm not so sure why this is confusing. Now, let's add to this equation: does homosexuality send a repentant, gospel believing homosexual to hell? No, it does not. Why not? Because of repentance and faith in the gospel. Further, does a life ruled by homosexuality send one to hell? Paul says yes, in accordance with 1 Cor 6:9-10. Why is this so? Because the homosexuals life is ruled by homosexuality (sin), and this calls one's faith into question. A willful following of sin is far different than a daily fight against sin which results in failure. With the equation that I presented above, replace "homosexuality" with "any sin", and the formula still fits.

“ Great Sermon! ”
Homosexuality has been around for a long time and it has always been SIN. The sad part of today is that it has become socially acceptable and the world no longer calls it sin. When we call sin by another name we insult God. When God says it is sin, it is sin.

“ Good Discussion ”
I think Tim left out a critical element of the Gospel - REGENERATION!!! If any one is in Christ he is a new creation. Such "were" some of you. John 1. Paul Washer would have given a better explanation of this topic. I was disappointed in Keller's weak/soft approach to sin and God's holiness. He made it seem that only purpose of Jesus teaching was to help us treat others in God's ideal way. This is insufficient. What about the fact that Jesus was exposing self-righteousness and perfection is required by God. God is Holy. The sermon on the mounts larger purpose was to expose the fact you cannot earn your way to heaven...you are helpless.

“ Great Sermon! ”
For those who are "saved": Steve Brown wrote his "Three Free Sins" book and Martin Luther shared his "1,000 rapes a day" point. Isn't Keller just trying to be consistent with this same theology? For the homosexual who is saved, why can't he engage in 3 or 1,000 homosexual acts? If a heterosexual can have a boatload of free sins, why can't a Christian young man with same-sex attraction who occasionally falls into it? Grace only applies to the sinning heterosexual but not the homosexual? Great dialogue!
