Great Sermon! "The events of these days are but a whisper."
MCCurley
A truthful and passionately delivered sermon; incredibly timely. The place for God's people is in the assembly seeking the mercies of God for the world, the nation, the church, the family, and ourselves. Why are we giving power to the state to determine the times of our gathering to worship the Lord?
Are we afraid to die? Has not Christ taken the sting out of death for the believer? So why are we afraid to assemble for any reason?

Great Sermon! Well said.
The purposes of God were expressed in your sermon.
Did not God send his word to heal us where two or three are gathered in his name?
It seems that many sinners, unbelievers, would run to the churches where Christ is exalted to be saved from impending death.
Sadly, there is no place for them to run because many Christians are afraid to die. Many Christians are stung by the teachings of the false prophets and believe that to gain earthly riches, is to have God's favor. To die, in Christ, is gain. The slothful [man] saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets (Prov 22:13) The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets (26:13). We've become afraid of evangelizing our neighbor for fear of death. Now God is showing us that we worship the way we worship and not the one whose words are spoken in John 14:6 and Exod. 15:26, Mt. 11:28. The fear of man has ensnared many. What message are we sending those who need comfort for their anxieties? Will we hear the people say, Ps. 122:1. John 12:32. And the reasons many not changed is because they treasure the idols of this world. May God have mercy on us.
Thank you again and again Robert McCurley

The Stand The stand of the minister who calls for repentance to the glory of God is remembered here, by the danger of the context, in that the Lord will reveal our sins and many idols, so that we return to HIM.
