When should be be flexible and when should we not be? Paul was remarkably flexible when it came to things indifferent, conscience matters, as is seen in Romans 14. But when it came to the Gospel -- justification by faith alone in Christ alone -- Paul was adamant and inflexible. He would not budge an inch on that. Why? Because any compromise on that is to seek justification by works, which insults Christ and leads to damnation, not salvation.
