The deliverance of God is a cause for the praise of God—new mercies call forth new songs. What, then, has God done? He has put a new song in the mouth of his people. How has he done this? By granting deliverance from fearful woes. What is this new song? It is praise to God as Saviour. What should the effect be? Seeing these mercies and the saints' response to them, fearing and trusting the Lord. Finally, and significantly, can you sing this new song? Have the saving and succouring mercies of the Lord given you a reason to praise his name?
