All flesh is as grass, and the grass withereth. We do not have to look far to find plenty of evidence that this is true. Our fleshly bodies wither, dry up, and get brittle as time passes. Then they go back to the dust and it is as if they never existed. But the body is only the house for the soul. The soul is eternal and will exist forever either in the presence of God or exiled forever into outer darkness. To be with the God that soul must have been born again while it lived in that fleshly body. There is only one way to be born again and that is by the Word of God, which is the only thing in this life that we possess that is eternal. It is the seed that must be received in the good ground of our soul.
