In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit. After the hostility ceases, friendship often begins. Relationships can change, however we cannot break our commitment to the Lord. We need to be very, very careful when making a commitment to the Lord. We should never make a commitment that the Lord has not told us to make. If we get in a hole, the first thing we need to do is stop digging. When people have no king, no ruler, things get messy. God takes things that are messy and blesses them. God has a plan for your life and we need to get in step with Him. We are not to live like there is no King. If we go with the crowd we will end up being destroyed. We are by nature sinful creatures, the good news is that Jesus came to save sinners. The only hope for any of us is King Jesus.
