It is good to think about the fact that this Parable of the Unjust Steward was given by the Lord Jesus following His 3 parables on the Lost Sheep, the Lost Coin, and the Parable of the Prodigal Son. This Parable is a follow-up to those which Jesus has already given, in that He wished to bring out the truth that we as Christ's disciples are stewards of all that He has entrusted us with: our money, our time, and our talents; all of which He has given us. The Lord would have us to be faithful with all that He has given us. But He would also warn us of what will hinder us greatly in our becoming a faithful steward. That is, a wrong view of money. The Lord Jesus would have us to be faithful in the use of unrighteous mammon so that we can be entrusted with the true riches and learn to be faithful in regard to all the grace and truth that He gives to us. So let us pray to receive the truth which our Lord has for us here in this Parable.
