What is a prophet? One who speaks on behalf of God to His people, and to all mankind, to declare His will And 2nd he is commissioned by God to foretell future events as they relate to His people and to all mankind.
Here then, in these verses we see that the Lord God would raise up for Israel a Prophet like Moses from among them, and they were to hear everything that he would say to them, and if they would not listen to Him they would be utterly destroyed from among the people of God; they would have no lasting inheritance, they would not go to heaven. If they did listen to Him they would be saved and have eternal life and find acceptance with God, and find grace to live a godly life.
