John 13 is the gateway to five chapters of details about what happened in the Upper Room that are not found in the other gospels. In these verses, Jesus reveals the intensity of his love for his disciples as he washes their feet (pedilavium). He even washed the feet of Judas, the disciple he knew would betray him that very night. We must have that same atttitude of humility as we serve others.
