We can apply these truths to those who would desire to be faithful preachers of the word. 1st of all – Here we find that a true prophet was called for, by a righteous king. (verses 1-9) 2nd – A true prophet was not one to speak comfort and encouragement to those who were false or sinful. (verses 10-18) 3rd – A true prophet was willing to suffer so that God’s word would be faithfully proclaimed. (verses 19-28)
