Blessings on this warm winter day for us in the South. I came across this old archive and sensed it was appropriate and applicable for me today and maybe you, too. So, I'm sharing it and the other video that I recorded that day that didn't make the cut in the original post. Praying they give you something to chew on.
Your friend, Nick
Jesus said:
"Do not labor [for] the things in this life that waste away..." John 6:27
We must labor [with] wasteful things but not [for] wasteful stuff... you know, those things that won't live past this day.
We learn how to work WITH things so we can learn how to work with people, FOR JESUS' sake.
Learning how to work with various cuts of meat is not the end goal... notoriety, popularity, or wealth is not the aim or agenda of Heaven. We learn what we learn to be more effective at being a blessing to people.
Putting food on the table is one thing... it's a needed thing. But laying up heavenly treasures, that endure to everlasting life, while we put food on the table, is another, that is needed, even more so than the next meal we eat. We can labor for food without laboring for Jesus... but we'll never labor for Jesus without seeing our work as an opportunity to work for Him.
Jesus helps us... He said, "Do not labor [for] the things in this life that waste away...when you labor [with] those things that will perish..." John 6:27
We must labor [with] wasteful things but not [for] wasteful living. Wasteful things... become eternally profitable things, when our labor is FOR something greater, and more enduring, that lives beyond or passed this very day.
Making our labor count... is more than counting our labor. It's living for something
