We have, here, Peter’s confession regarding who the Lord Jesus is, and Jesus’ confession of Peter, as to what would result from Peter’s confession of Him. I think we can say that this confession of Peter’s is the foundation stone and the model of every true Christian and every true church. The question we will ask ourselves this morning will be this: What are the elements which make up a true confession of Christ by men, and churches? For all the elements of a true confession are found here in these two passages that I have read to you. I would like to lay before you 5 elements of a true confession of Christ. I want to look at 3 of them this morning, and the other two next Sunday morning. The Elements of a true Confession of Christ, are these: 1st – Recognition; 2nd – Revelation; and 3rd – Response. The 4th and 5th Elements of a true Confession of Christ are Resistance and Responsibility. We will save those for next Sunday. As I open up these elements to you, I pray that it will do much to tell you whether you are a true Christian; whether you know Jesus as He really is….
