What is worry? When Jesus was burdened excessively, to the point of death, int he Garden of Gethsemane, was He worried? No, because Jesus was sinless, and worry is a sin. So, what is worry? In this passage of Matthew 6, where Jesus commands us not to worry, the context is worrying about basic provisions -- food, water, clothing. But the application goes beyond that. Jesus gives us seven reasons why we should not worry.
