We are looking today at the 7th plague of hail. I have seen a little bit of the damage that hail can cause but I have never seen it cause as much destruction as the Bible reports here, and quite frankly up until this point neither had Pharaoh. Egypt is known for getting less than 2 inches of rainfall a year and hail would be even rarer there but we must keep in mind God is attacking every aspect of false religion of Egypt at the same time He is putting man in his place. The best part of this plague is that while God is doing all of that He is also showing mercy. He could have just killed Pharaoh outright and been done with it yet He gave Pharaoh a choice to obey or not, He has showed him patience with his hard heartedness, and at the same time God was giving Pharaoh all the rope he needed to hang himself with. This 7th plague is something of a snapshot of all of the plagues.
