This sermon seeks to understand how to apply the message Haggai delivered to the Jews about 2500 years ago to the local church. Without a temple in Jerusalem, the church may conclude that God isn't concerned about the buildings churches construct; but, is that really the case? The text(Haggai 1:1-14) helps answer this question. It also reminds God's people of the importance of being generous with what God has blessed them with and what may happen to those who are selfish. God can't ignore Christians who live in beautiful homes while telling themselves they can't afford to give money to the local church.
