In Romans 1:16-17 Paul presents the theme of Romans by answering four questions about the gospel of God. Last week we looked at the answers to the first two questions: Q.1--Why is Paul eager to preach the gospel in Rome? A.1--Because he is unashamed of the gospel (v. 16a); and Q2.--Why is Paul unashamed of the gospel? A.2--Because is is the power of God resulting in salvation to everyone who believes (v. 16b, c). This week we are looking at answers to questions 3 and 4 (in verse 17): Q.3--How does the gospel result in salvation? A.3--Through the saving righteousness of God which is being revealed in the gospel (v. 17a); and Q.4--How do we experience God's saving righteousness? A.4--By faith, from beginning to end (v. 17b, c).
