We must have a standard against which to judge a working of God. For example, I've spoken with Christians who claim that God is working in a certain area of their life. But when I ask them to explain their statement, they respond with, "I can't explain it; I just know I've experienced it."
I'm reminded of a man who in the process of sinning said, "My mind said it was wrong, but everything in my heart said it was right."
Brothers and sisters, how do you judge if something is of the Lord? On what basis ought we to invoke a divine working? When are we free to say that a calamity is a judgment of God against a nation? Or say that some event is God’s will? Or even that this is what God wants me to do?
