Galatians 2:11-21
I. Peter Fears the Men from James 2:11-14
Paul was shocked that Peter would stop eating with Gentiles. The men from James were shocked that he would eat with Gentiles.
A. Four Specific Rebukes for Peter v. 12, 14 Peter was a hypocrite, not a heretic. However he was on the downward path that leads to heresy.
B. The Judaizes Heresies that Amounted to Salvation by Works 1. Circumcision 2. Jewish food laws 3. Jewish feast days and holy days.
II. Justification 2:15-16
A. Defined “Justification is an act of God’s free grace, wherein He pardons all our sins, and accepts us as righteous in His sight, only for the righteousness of Christ imputed to us and received by faith alone.”
B. Considered Negatively 2:15-16
C. Considered Positively 2:16
III. A Further Explanation of Justification 2:17-18
It would appear that Paul was considered “a sinner” by the Galatian agitators and the men from James because he refused to adhere to the Jewish dietary laws.

Great Sermon! This is a very encouraging sermon. What this preacher said is true of me and it's the hardest thing for me to overcome. I want so much to touch what Christ has done, and yet I know if I do I will defile the most pure work of all. It is a filthy thing to go there and yet it is so bound up in my old nature. I want so much to please God that I forget the most blessed truth of all, it is all of Christ. I preach the gospel to myself everyday. It's not about me. I am an unprofitable servant, I add nothing to my Master. It is He who saved me.
