Hope is such a powerful force in our lives. At times when people lose hope they may also lose the will to continue on or even live. Our adversary seeks to give up, to drop out, to come to brink of despair, to think that what we are facing is hopeless. That's why we need to put on the helmet of salvation, which is really the helmet of hope. As believers in Christ, we have hope-- the hope of a redeemed body , the hope of rewarded service, and the hope of eternal life. All of these hopes will be fully realized at the 'Blessed' hope-- the soon return of Jesus Christ. But we can also have hope right now even if undergoing hardships and trials. Paul reveals that by cultivating the inner man, comparing our present struggles with future rewards, and by concentrating on eternity, we can not give up but keep going even in tough times. We all need the 'Helmet of Hope'!
