Not until well after the middle of the eighteenth century did English hymns achieve a significant place in American worship." That was an article written about how Isaac Watts was criticized for his music.
I agree that many songs of those groups are shallow and may not mention "Jesus" enough for you in its lyrics but we should all be careful of condemning as evil when it simply doesn't suit our tastes. Choose what's best for your congregation without giving a blanket accusation of calling someone who truly loves the Lord as heretical.
For example, tell me how you like this popular song that has been printed more often than any modern hymn? This is a part of Psalm 140:
"For the choir director. A Davidic psalm.
9 When those who surround me rise up, may the trouble their lips cause overwhelm them.
10 Let hot coals fall on them.
Let them be thrown into the fire,
