The Gospel that says, "God saves dead sinners in the midst of deadness, without any help or contribution from them" is not the same as a gospel that says, "God provides you the opportunity to save yourself through the sacraments or by means of saying a sinner's prayer." The former is the gospel of grace. The second is a "gospel" of works. The great controversy in the Galatian church was over HOW sinners are saved. It was not over the facts of the Gospel or the person of Christ (Jesus's deity, humanity, life, death on the cross, resurrection, ascension). The controversy was over what do you need to do to be saved, and the Judaizer false gospel taught that you needed to be circumcised and keep the Jewish ceremonial Law. Likewise, the "gospel" of Roman Catholicism gets all the gospel facts right, but errs miserably on HOW we are saved. The same is true with Arminianism. It affirms the facts of the gospel historically, but proves to be a false gospel in telling people HOW to be saved.
