In this second study on the Book of Revelation we see that this letter, written by the aged apostle, John, was written to the churches. Although the churches to which John wrote were the immediate object of his care, it can also be understood that in respect of difficulties, compromises, and need for encouragement, the letter provides clarification and encouragement for churches throughout the ages, and most certainly for us today.
Although John wrote down the revelation he received, essentially it is God who is speaking, and in every sense this letter, the Book of Revelation, is truly heaven sent! The message in the five verses under consideration is that Christ and His Dominion is the focus, He brings salvation to sinners, He rules, He has glory and dominion, He is the beginning and end of all things, and it is His return that will occasion mourning for the godless peoples of the earth.
Indeed, we will get no profit from this book if we do not have Christ at the heart of it.
