This expository sermon examines Paul's argument against the Jew and other religious, moral people who think that the Judgment of God is not for them, but for "bad" people. The very fact that they judge others demonstrates that they acknowledge that there is right and wrong. They think they will be exempt from God's judgment, and yet they practice some of the same sins they judge in others! They are wrong to compare themselves with others rather than God Himself. Their self-righteous pride is enough to condemn them. How can they think they can defend themselves in the presence of God, who knows all things? V.1, "Therefore, you have no excuse (or defense)." Yet Dr. Felker concludes with the good news of how you can settle your case with God before that great Judgment Day. This message was preached at Harvest Christian Fellowship, Mechanicsville, VA, where Dr. Felker serves as Interim Pastor.
