In 2 Corinthians 5:7, Paul says we "walk by faith and not by sight." The term "walk" is used metaphorically of the daily activities of life with a view to a specific goal or destination. Everyone is working toward something. On this journey of life, the Apostle says Christians are supposed to navigate their lives by means of faith rather than by means of appearance. Our perceptions are severely limited and offer inadequate guidance that can only lead to destruction. That is the condition of fallen humanity. By contrast, Christians have been given spiritual and eternal insight through God's Word. Christians have the privilege of guiding their lives by a perspective that only comes from trusting in what God has revealed.
