In 2 Corinthians 5:7 we find that Christians are to walk by faith, not by sight. The word "sight" actually means "appearance or perception." While the world undoubtedly walks by sight, far too many Christians find it easy to conduct their lives by appearances as well. In the two Corinthian letters, Paul corrects the Christians who were struggling in this area. We are called to live by faith, resting our hope on the sure promise of God's Word instead of looking to experiences or perceptible demonstrations for confidence and confirmation.
