Brothers and Sisters in the Lord: It pained Apostle Paul that his own people, the Jews, the ones who were the first to be offered salvation, had treated their glorious and gracious salvation with contempt. He knew how Jesus cried for them. He knew they had killed the Holy One of God. He knew they had joined in a conspiracy with Rome to do so. But yet, he longed to see them return …return from trying to save themselves by works and return to salvation by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone.
