In this message, marriage and the family is shown to be rooted not just in the redemptive/symbolic aspect of Christ and His Church, but fundamentally in God's own Triune Being and in His outward works. We are made in His image and God is (1) relational, (2) He is one and yet diverse, and (3) He carries out His decree within an 'authoritative' structure. (Please note: The speaker in no way holds to the view that there is any sort of 'eternal subordination' within the Godhead, but only with respect to His outward works in the execution of His decree, namely redemption. The subordination referred to in this message is 'economical', not 'ontological').
