Although statistics and information is patchy it is evident that the Particular Baptists grew from the original seven churches that signed the 1644 London Confession of Faith to some 220 churches in England and Wales by 1715. Some 107 were represented at the first national assembly in 1689. Some of their evangelistic and church-planting work is examined including that of Thomas Patient in Ireland, Thomas Collier in the West Country, and John Miles in South Wales. The lecture concludes with a survey of some of the different associations of Particular Baptists that reflect the geographical growth that took place in this period.
