Knollys (1609-1691) served Christ faithfully throughout the turbulent period of the seventeenth century. He was imprisoned several times throughout his life but remained a diligent pastor of a church in London. He became a leader of the London Particular Baptists, helping them to become established at a time when they were regarded with suspicion. He was still active in 1689, and was the first to sign the Second London Confession of faith.
