Pastor Tim Goad brings us to the end of the Beatitudes in verses 10-12 with Blessed are the Persecuted. But the significant aspect of this is in the qualifier CHRIST gives of the type of persecution, and why it is truly persecution, 'For righteousness sake'. This is in regards to being CHRIST-like, 1 Peter 4:12-15, 2 Timothy 3:12. Also, that some of the greatest persecution we receive is not from the watching world, but from within the body of CHRIST, in man-made competitions in seeking to be holier than others, and then trying to impose that self-made righteousness. We are called to be CHRIST-like, and thus how we look to others, talk, act, especially to fellow brethren, is an important part of our walk with HIM.
