We are in a fierce battle between the Spirit and the flesh. God has given us the victory, but we are still in a daily battle against our flesh and the devil. This is evidence that we are Christians. We are in a warfare, but there is consolation and comfort for the Christian that Christ has finished the work on the cross.

Great Sermon! I managed to squeeze another sermon in tonight Larry. It's funny that almost eleven years ago at age 56 when I first read this chapter in Romans, I thought I was going crazy. "if I do this, if I don't do that". I couldn't understand it. Through my patient mentor, who is now passed, I was able to understand and the Book of Romans is one of my favorite books of the Bible. And one of the most important for all Christians, I believe. We are in a terrible battle against evil spiritual forces and it will continue to get worse. But, we have with us always our shield, our buckler, and one who will never leave us nor forsake us, nor give us more than we can handle. Praise the Lord and thanks Larry.
