Following the period of the Judges the people of Israel moved into an approximately 500-year period of earthly kings. God's chosen people had rejected God as their King and desired to be like all the nations around them and have an earthly king. This message follows what happens from the reign of Saul to David to Solomon to what happens throughout the divided kingdom. Throughout it all God continues to be faithful and hold true to all the promises He had made, while in contrast, the people were most often unfaithful and continually broke the promises they had made to God. Nonetheless, God's plans cannot be thwarted and history continued to move forward toward the coming of the Messiah.
